Discussion
editYou will have to be more specific about "some cosmetic changes". You will also have to link to a discussion showing consensus for these changes to be made here. You should also review WP:COSMETICBOT. Anomie⚔ 17:00, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I didn't think about scripts, which automatically improve quality of code of pages, rather I'll think about WP:CONTEXTBOT. Przemub (talk) 19:05, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- In order to get approval, you have to define exactly what the bot is going to do, and which situations it will detect and act upon. This is what the "Function details" section of the BRFA is for, which you have deleted. Note that spelling-correction bots are not allowed per WP:CONTEXTBOT. —SW— babble 20:48, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- I want to doing tasks as on szl:Wikipedyjo:Boty#PrzemuBot. I didn't find it on WP:Bot policy. Regards, Przemub (talk) 07:00, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- The English Wikipedia apparently requires more detail than the Polish Wikipedia for bot requests. We need to know more than simply "Bot will do tasks from this page and help in make repetitive edits. It means, bot will moving categories, replacing strings, etc." We don't just approve bot operators and then let them do whatever they want, we approve each specific task that a bot operator wants to perform. So, once again, in order to get approval, you must describe the specific situation that your bot will respond to, and exactly how it will respond to that situation. Which categories will it move? Why do they need to be moved? What strings will it replace? Why do they need to be replaced? —SW— verbalize 14:09, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
