| I was really happy to see the panel at AX Lite! I've always hoped for MAL to make some type of official appearance at AX or more cons like this! But what was up with the giveaway? Was it mentioned at the beginning of the video when there were audio problems and not everyone could hear it?;; Congrats to the winners though! EDIT: Oh! I see! It was on the slide. I couldn't see the slide too well and was busy trying to see if it was my audio that was bugging, so I must have missed it. |

The MyAnimeList panel was hosted by YumioSF, Kineta, and Xinil conducted in a style in which they each took turns elaborating on each section of the presentation. Sadly, I couldn't really hear the first part with Yumi much at all due to audio issues. I only got some of Yumi talking about her experience with anime, but for the rest of the panel, it was pretty much about what MAL is, its origins, the community events MAL has to offer (MALentines, MALoween Mansion, etc.), some MAL tips and tricks, 'apply to be a mod' pretty much, an upcoming new moderator position, the new API, a few other upcoming features, and the assurance that there's more to come for MAL in the future. In addition, there was a short Q&A segment. There was also a giveaway for MAL Supporter subscriptions. People were able to participate in the giveaway through QR/forum or through Twitter. At the end of the panel, the winners were announced! In short, I think the first part was more of an introduction to MAL, and the last part was more of MAL's future. I totally think I'm missing something. I was watching on a tiny phone screen with some problems here and there, so I probably wasn't able to catch everything. I think that's the gist of it though! |

| As far as I could tell, every endpoint needs auth, which is bummer. Why do I need to complete the auth flow in order to access public info? .___. |

To be specific, they announced a NEW app. They already have an app, from 2018, that was removed from the store shortly after release. It still works to do this, for people that already have it. But it's bare. I switched to PocketMAL once they got into the beta for the API a few months ago and honestly am perfectly content. Only things I'm missing on PocketMAL are being able to see more details information on shows/cast such as theme songs and what not. Hoping the new app is very feature-full |
