It's funny to see Alina's other side emerge as the receptionist. In a nutshell, it's literally about a receptionist working at a guild but has a double sided personality depending on her mood. She's pretty much the poster girl so definitely eyes are on her for her mood swings.

Still very lighthearted and has fantasy elements added into its world setting. This show got delayed before but animation quality looks overall consistent.

They don’t even try with the standard fantasy stuff which looks like any other mass produced iskeai stuff these days. I mean the same monsters, the same guild, the same party and the same final boss stuff. We could argue that this time around a guild receptionist is doing something other than handing out cards(I mean she’s still doing that) and working as a salesperson you see buttering you up on phone calls, but yeah, that ain’t gonna cut it. I mean that dude kinda already figured it out in the first episode itself lol.

Thought the visuals will be rocking since this a Cloverworks thing, but yeah, not now at least. Passable start tbh, I mean very typical. ED sounds fun btw, if nothing.

We've seen anime's about starting guilds and all the such... but what about the people working AT THE guilds themselves... never before seen has it lol. Welp, that's where our MC comes in... to which she doesn't even last a full episode as such because to a point it gets to "too much paperwork for her"... LOL. Very based MC already.

And so, to reduce not only the paperwork, but to also not work overtime, she goes and defeats the boss herself... LMAOOOOO. Don't let the CloverWorks making this anime fool you though, this anime won't look as good as most of their other shows, so for this one, just enjoy the sheer dumbness of it all. I know I will because jeez that whole talk between MC and dude who found her out was comedy gold xD

Novelist Mato Kousaka's series presents a rather unique problem: why be a guild receptionist when you can be an adventurer?

310's OP and Akari Nanawo's ED are fine...though props to the OP for going the cinematic route.

MC Alina Clover must've been on the unlucky streak of her life, signing up to be an adventurer, but given the task to do administrative work at the guild instead. And she'll do solo work just so to earn her time off, what a unique way to cheat the system lols. But her being presented with adventurers who can't quite clear the quests they're given, they only earn the ire of her wrath. She should've been living a good life, but ends up going overtime because of the Hellflame Dragon boss that cannot be cleared in the Belfia Underground Ruins. And it's this point where adventurers only know this mysterious Executioner, the only one who can actually kill bosses.

This poses a big urgent need for the party of Silver Sword, most particularly of leader Jade Skrade who recognizes Alina from her side profile, and no matter how she can hide it, Jade's sharp perception is undeniably accurate, and passes her a Relic...only to be crushed on the spot to remain her guild receptionist career as is, in peace. With his persistence however, Alina being forced to use her Dia war hammer on Jade to shut him up, it's the overtime work that irritates her the most, and she would not relent on letting this intel be exposed.

Interesting fantasy show for someone skiving her real work, how far can Alina cover her tracks?

Wait the op is in different ratio

The anime is quite cute im curious what happens next though
ED is quite cute

All things considered while its kinda weird it looks somewhat promising
Though I have no idea what happens next since the ep just kinda left as is
Someone already found out alina's sekret in the first ep soo

The OP is kinda weird and im not sure how the other characters are going to factor into this
Really not much I can say since im just speculating what happens next
Initially I thought this might be like an episodic
So far it seems there might be some continuity, maybe
Its mostly a comedy though since the whole point is that alina has to overtime

It's such a fun anime, I hope it's not a one-trick pony. Wait, I wouldn't mind if it becomes one trick pony because I love anime where female characters are strong and male characters are hot and this anime ticks both boxes!

Cloverworks expanding their repertoire this season with their 2nd LN adaptation and first fantasy show. We’ve seen the “OP MC wants to live peacefully” gimmick before, but never form the prospective of a guild employee. Off to a good start so far.

Takahashi Rie already got me in love with Alina. As usual, brings a nice mix of bad ass and comedy to any character she touches not to mention how good her design is. I’ve had the first book for like two years but haven’t read yet. Just thought alina was cute so I ordered it lol. But coming into this blind I expected it to be pure administrative tasks, assigning quests, purely backroom stuff. Didn’t think she’d be out soloing bosses as well. I kinda wanted it to stay administrative just because we have so many OP cute girl takes on dungeon shows already, but I do understand that probably would’ve got old after a while.

I think everyone can relate to wanting to go home from work on time too so having her become an adventurer to prevent overtime is so real lol. Anyone also think her fighting design looks Maple’s friend from Bofuri

Main draw here will be watching Alina try to hide her double identity from the guild and other adventurers(besides silver sword). Anything TakaRie touches is gold though so I’m sure it’ll be enjoyable as hell. Cloverworks as usual cooking with the animation, art looks beautiful and this pilot ep got some laughs from me. I’m hooked.

I don't know, I believe it would've been better if the protagonist was former S-rank adventurer or whatever, working as a guild receptionist, instead of a girl that constatly tries to hide her abilities. Would be nice if I was wrong, but I believe it will be fun for at most 2-3 episodes before it'll become overused trope of Her working overtime, complaining, killing boss, rinse and repeat.

Now THIS is something!

Cute girl.
With a foul mouth.
Anger issues.
And a GIANT hammer?!

Say less! You had my attention eons ago!

Now the show really just needs to actually have a decent story to tell and I am totally gonna stick around for this series.

Well not sure what i had to expect but it wasn't bad.
The main does need something to deal with her frustrations tho.

And it's nice that she is using one of the most underrated weapons in fiction, a war hammer.
It's a bit oversized tho but than again which weapon isn't oversized in anime.

Defo a cute uniform. Though its desk work the nature of adventuring means its rarely stress free. What a banger of an OP. Loved the contrast between Alina's public self and her inner self. But man the amount of work that the guild does is insane. That dragon was beyond insanly hard though. Not that it would had mattered to the Executioner which was the coolest name. Still Alina's desire to live a quiet life was shown strongly in her crushing of the relic. The interrogation was a nice touch.

There are many sort of dumb characters in anime and then there's this pink hair girl. Alina literally soloed a dungeon boss in front of them and five sec later, "there possibly can't be anyone who can solo boss." Well girl...

Anyway I find the concept amusing and that dragon looked cool with the flames. So much for her safe work lol and she also got found out already. Like Alina, she's cute, amusing and Rieri as well. Can't say much about the production, it looks good but not cloverworks good yet but it's just the first and the actual fight scene looked cool. OP sequence is cinema though, love those background visuals.

Pretty amusing first episode.
The source of her strength is pretty mysterious, looking forward to learn more about it.
Unfortunately for her, she got 'caught' pretty early on and easily at that haha.

The only real negatives in the episode for me are the animation during the dragon fight (could have been better) and the forgettable OP theme.
On the other hand, Rie Takahashi is doing a fantastic job as the main character, and the ED theme is so kawaii.

Not a perfect start by any means, but a fairly solid one :)

I get that a steady paycheck and job security are nice, but it still seems odd that she'd choose the guild job over being an adventurer, given that the former comes with lots of paperwork that she hates and the latter she could make her own hours and not work at all if she has enough savings from the last dungeon run.

The LN covers that later, so to avoid spoilers: just be patient. And no, she is not randomly killing people, even though she has a thorny side to her. She can actually be fairly compassionate.
For now, let's suffice to say that she has good reasons to want a quiet life and is not interested in becoming an adventurer.
The dia power is the highest rank of power, and one that has not been seen since before the ancient cataclysm happened that they hinted at in the episode. She dose not know why she got it, though the how will be explained later.

I knew about the humor from the manga adaptation, but it still had me laughing out loud—absolutely loved it 💯.
The animation quality was also really high, which I appreciated.

However...

Surprisingly,
the voice acting...

didn't
quite
work for me.

They heavily promoted Rie Takahashi voicing Arina, and since I usually enjoy her performances in various roles, I had high expectations. But maybe that’s why I felt a bit let down.

Arina's charm lies in her extreme emotional swings—joy, anger, anger, anger, anger, anger, sadness, and so on. But the performance felt more like it emphasized her sadistic side, and the “anger” aspect didn’t come through as strongly as I’d hoped.

I think once I get used to Rie Takahashi’s interpretation of Arina, I’ll probably enjoy it just fine. But right now, I can’t help but feel a little disappointed—it wasn’t the Arina I was looking forward to seeing.

I think we've just found the waifu of the Winter Season 2025!

The charm of Alicia Williams from "Rekishi ni Nokoru Akujo ni Naru zo" (Fall Season 2024) combined with the loose tongue of Awayuki Kokorone from "VTuber Nandaga Haishin Kiri Wasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta" (Summer Season 2024) makes for a crazy protagonist whose adventures are simply fun to follow.

Alina loves her job as a receptionist - because of the seemingly quiet life and the cute uniform (which she emphasizes again 😂). She hates overtime - as someone who often has to stay up all night herself, that's pretty relatable.

However, because the guild can't get its work done, she has to do it herself.
But don't be recruited as an adventurer yourself, because that would be work😂

So far, a very good start. The main character is funny, the animations, especially the city, look very good. It was definitely worth postponing it by a season.

The background music was good too, especially at the point where Alina had the argument at the end and the ending immediately went onto my mp3 playerđŸŽ¶

Yes, but that's exactly what speaks for the anime. This feeling of "Whoa? Already over? Did I really just spend 23 minutes on it? Did it feel like 5?" shows how entertaining the title was. While the opening episodes "Honey Lemon Soda" and "Douse, Koishite Shimaunda" dragged on for an hour in places, the opening episode here was so entertaining that the time just flew by.
For me, this "Whoa? The "It's already over" moment is always a sign of quality for an anime.

I think we'll have fun with Alina for the next 12 weeks.

@julranma For sure, It does seem like the shows with that "its already over???" feeling are more engaging than those that seem to just drag on. By the ending of the episode I was double checking the length was actually 20+ min, definitely increases the anticipation for next week.

Probably I understood what you mean, you wanted more of a Aki Toyosaki style performance (as Ristarte for example) with more marked changes in the tone of the voice depending on her mood swings.
While Rieri (still super) is more on the bright side, energetic girl type, even when pissed or annoyed she has tomboysh vibes, probably you wanted a more comedy contrast in her changes of mood.

I agree with you Tomoriru has similar vibes but more comical (I loved her performance in Hikikomari Kyuuketsuki no Monmon, and in general I like her a lot).
Tenchan would be absolutely super hilarious but I don't know if she fits completely the character, because she often voice characters with airhead vibes and Arina seems actually be more of a smart energetic and a bit tomboysh girl, but I haven't read the original material so this are first impressions.

Personally I liked Rieri performance and from what I felt, she probably enjoyed voicing Arina. XD

Big exposition dump about the lore and Silver Swords leader finding her in very 1st episode, that part seemed a bit rushed.

But everything else was fine and main heroine was fantastic.

Ok so obviously I need more to really figure out what’s going on but as of now I am enjoying the show but I don’t quite get her motivations
.like the leader of silver sword said that relic is basically worth a small fortune so why be a receptionist when she could basically work maybe 1 day every few months, she killed the hellflame dragon in less than a day could have claimed that reward then also sold materials and such lets say just to do all of this takes 3 days she wouldn’t have to work after that for who knows how long and then she doesn’t have to worry about hours, benefits, or anything she could literally do whatever she wants
.and it’s not like she particularly likes the receptionist job it seems more like just a convenience. I just don’t get her motivations be a secret adventurer then just live life until she needs more money.
