Rammus is indeed something you never let go of. It was my first champ to ever play with 8 years ago and I have around 1.5m mastery. All my other champs combined have about 0.03m mastery (darius, taric, malph)

Do people not understand math? The way ELO works is that if everyone on your team is appropriately ELOd for the game, then by the laws of mathematics, so are you. In order for you to be 'improperly placed' then your true ELO is greater than your account's. If the matchmaking thinks you're better than D2, it will, for example, pair you with 3x D2 players and 1 player below D2, then if you can carry the bad player, it confirms that you are under ranked. So climbing significant distances is basically asking for bad teammates to carry in order to prove your worth.
